Pursuing creative Collaborations with NGOs to co-Design social impact projects

CHETI NGO - Tanzania

  • Inspiring Young Minds: CHETI NGO and the Tarangire River Adventure

After summitting the majestic Kilimanjaro in 2023, I was captivated by the Tanzanian people's unwavering passion for learning. This experience ignited a desire to contribute to their educational journey. Joining forces with CHETI NGO (Children's Health & Education Team Inspiration), we embarked on a transformative project aimed at fostering a love of science, music, and learning among children.

    The Tarangire River Adventure

At the heart of our collaboration lies a series of 10 captivating animal booklets, following the adventures of "Grazers" and "Chasers" along the iconic Tarangire River. These booklets aren't merely stories; they are gateways to a world of knowledge, filled with engaging facts, songs, and interactive elements.

  • Since 2024, we have been privileged to work closely with 450 CHETI students and 22 teachers across 5 schools in Arusha. Through a combination of online and face-to-face interactions, we have been able to deliver a comprehensive educational experience.

  • Curated Content: Our booklets feature fascinating facts about native Tanzanian animals and essential learning sections, such as counting, writing, and colour recognition.

Creative Integration: We have incorporated songs and stories written by the teachers themselves, enhanced with QR codes for easy access to audio recordings.

Student-Centered Approach: Through rigorous testing with students and teachers, we have refined our materials to ensure maximum engagement and effectiveness.

Interactive Learning: Our classes incorporate a variety of activities, including drawing, singing, and storytelling, to create a dynamic and immersive learning experience.

Comprehensive Resources: We have developed additional resources, such as teaching guides, craft guides, and puzzles, to support teachers and students in their learning journey.

Sustainability: Our commitment to sustainability is evident in the use of cloth pouches, sewn in Tanzania, for packaging our materials.

  • Through our collaboration with CHETI NGO, we have had the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young Tanzanians. By providing them with engaging and educational materials, we hope to inspire a lifelong love of learning and discovery.
